Sound and vision: using hearing aids while watching tv

For most people watching tv is very important. Most of us enjoy unwinding in front of the tv after a long day. This applies to people with normal hearing as well as people who use hearing aids.
For hearing aid users watching tv is just as important as it is for people with normal hearing. In the United States, people aged 65 and older consume an average of 6 hours and 57 minutes per day. And in recent years, more and more people have begun to use smart TVs. In fact, people aged 65 and older use smart TV features 10 days a month on average in the United States.

For people with hearing loss getting the right help is important. While 79% of hearing aid users are satisfied with their hearing aid when watching TV, 10% of people with reported hearing loss but no hearing aids regularly turn up the TV volume to a level that is louder than others would have it. All the more reason to see a hearing healthcare professional if one is experiencing hearing difficulty.
