Now hearing care professionals can support their clients remotely
10-09-2019
Widex is taking its next step towards perfecting hearing in real life for those with hearing loss. The new service WIDEX REMOTE CARE™ lets hearing care professionals counsel clients and fine-tune hearing aids remotely without them having to come to the clinic.
Today Widex is launching WIDEX REMOTE CARE, a service that lets hearing care professionals offer fine-tuning and counselling over a video-based connection instead of in the clinic.
Convenient for hearing aid users
The advantage of this service is that hearing care professionals can counsel their client while they’re out in real life. This gives the client the opportunity to explain a situational challenge from the comforts of the own home or at work.
It’s also convenient for clients who live far away, have a busy schedule, or have mobility issues. “It’s our expectation that replacing the wait for an in-clinic appointment with a video-based appointment will increase satisfaction with the hearing aid. So hearing care professionals can free up time for other clients or tasks,” says CEO Eric Bernard.
Works with existing fitting software
WIDEX REMOTE CARE is added as a new feature in the Widex Compass GPS software, which will allow hearing care professionals to connect to any wireless Widex hearing aid through the existing fitting software.
With the direct connection, hearing care professionals can make the necessary adjustments during the conversation and find the best settings for the specific client and the real-life situation they’re in using just a smartphone app and a fitting device.
“With WIDEX REMOTE CARE we’re taking the next step towards helping our users get the best possible listening experience while they’re out there in real life. And we’re excited about how that can improve the experience for our users and help grow our customers’ business,” concludes CEO Eric Bernard.
